Boom For The Outdoor Room!
We recently installed a complete surround system with dual subwoofers in a client's living room, along withProficient AW830 3-way outdoor speakers for his Lanai. He informed us that the inside sounds amazing and the outdoors cranks and plays low, but he wants the outside to have more really deep bass like the inside.
We came up with a plan to add a Crown CDI 2/600 amp and a SpeakerCraft BoomTomb 12" outdoor burial sub to his existing outdoor TV and speaker system.
The outdoor subwoofer is not the most elegant looking since it is meant to be buried in your landscaping, but the client said they are going to build and decorate around it, so that was not a concern.
We installed the amplifier, ran the heavy-duty 12 gauge wire and set the subwoofer outside, calibrated the amp's digital sound processor (DSP) settings for the proper crossovers and volume levels. The grin on the client's face during the demo said it all.
He now has the deep, powerful bass in his outside Lanai that he has in his Living Room!
